Love a Little: The 9 Step Guide x

 9 Little Steps to help you live a love-filled and happy life.

These are for absolutely everybody as we can all do with a little love…

 1. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH LOVE

 We all need love so surround yourself with Love. Love a little or love a lot and try to do the things you love as much as possible. We are all here for a reason so try to find your true potential and do all you love. Don’t waste a minute of this precious life. If you live in alignment with your true self and find love in your life then you will live a happier, more abundant, love-filled life. 

 What are the things in your life that truly make you feel happy, joyful and full of love? Is there something you are passionate about or a gift you have for the world? Is there something you love so much that you feel butterflies in your stomach when you think of it? You should be doing more of the things you LOVE as much as possible. Love something, anything, every single day. To start the flow of love all it takes is to start small by doing little things that you love whenever possible. Maybe it’s a walk on the beach, a surf, dancing around the house, singing, creating, building, designing, writing or drawing.  Anything YOU love. 

Follow your true desires from your heart as this is your unique love and life calling you. This is the kind of love that will make an impact on your world around you and truly make you happy. You can’t hide from your true inner love and follow what others want as you will always come back to the things you love. Trust me!! 

 Make sure you check-in with yourself and ask, ‘Is this really for me, is this what I truly love to do, and does it feel right? Is this in line with who I am and who I want to be and not someone else’s life or love?’ 

 Try to do at least one thing you love each day or weekly. I love dancing, walks, travel, cuddles with my little ones, taking a bath and dinner with friends and family. 

I am working on going back to study, finishing my book and getting back into acting. It is hard for me to find the time to do this with a young family, but I try to work on my goals when I get a chance even If it’s for a few minuets. I try to make the most of every moment and do at least one thing I love daily, even if it’s for one minute. 

 If you don’t get a chance to do the things you love often then try to schedule it into your life. If you really can’t experience what you love to do for any reason or reasons out of your control, then work on visualising what you love or meditating on it. Try tapping into the feelings you get from this love and enjoy time thinking about it, writing about it or talking about it, so you can bring these moments of joy into your life as much as possible. Even listening to some music or watching your favourite feel good movie or show to make you feel happy will help you feel those loving feelings. Hopefully one day you can experience this love doing all you love, but for now these feelings will bring love into your daily life. 

If you have trouble finding things to love in your life or you can’t seem to do any of this then ask for help. We all have hard times and asking for help is the best way we can get back to a happy life. We can ask friends or family, strangers, your doctor, coach, counsellor or psychologist. Even spending time in nature, meditating and asking your God or angels for help or spiritual guidance can work. It might sound crazy, but it can’t hurt to try it for a little while. There is help for anyone If you are willing to ask for it and change. People love helping, it is our life work to love and help so don’t be afraid to ask.

 If you do more of what you love, find your unique gifts and live in alignment with your love, truth and beliefs, then you will live a happier, more abundant, love-filled life.

 2.   BE GRATEFUL

 Be grateful for as much as you can in your life every day! With gratitude, you will start the flow of love. 

 You can be grateful for absolutely anything, you just need to start somewhere with at least one thing. When you are grateful for the little things in your life you will soon feel grateful for more and then see the love in your life multiply. 

You can be grateful for your family, partner, best friends, dog or cat. Maybe it’s the sunshine, the beach, a cool breeze, a smile, your neighbour, the sunset, your hobbies, the mountains, your favourite music or your health? Write it down, say it, think it or meditate on it. Just choose something to be grateful for today and you will start to see your life change for the better and feel the love all around you. 

 3.   ALWAYS HAVE DREAMS

 We all need dreams, so dare to dream as it makes life exciting. 

Work towards your dreams, a big love, your true calling, a passion of yours or a long-term goal.

 This can be anything you dream of doing from a place of love. Maybe it’s your dream career or A dream place to travel. To start a new business. To change something in the world. To buy a new house, to study, to move countries or states, a career change or a lifelong dream?  Dream it, then visualise it, write it down, practise it and work on it when you can to make it happen. Some dreams may take some time to achieve so be patient. You may need to work on it slowly if it's not possible daily or weekly.  Dare to dream as it’s what gives us hope, makes us happy and fills our lives with love.

 4.   SHOW LOVE AND BE KIND

 Give love to your friends, family and everyone you meet, a simple smile or a kind word is all it takes to change someone's life. Never underestimate the power of kindness and love. Don’t judge or control others as we are all different and that’s what makes life interesting. When you give love, you will receive so much more love than you could ever imagine and make the world a better place. You can be confident in life knowing you come from a place of love.

 Ask them a simple, “how are you”?  or just smile. People don’t remember what you give them, but they remember the way you make them feel. You never know what someone has been through or is going through so always be kind and show love. Make a promise as I did awhile ago to be kind to everyone you meet. I try to do this with every friend, every shop assistant and every single person I come into contact with each day. I simply smile and show kindness towards them. That is it. So Simple! And the world needs this now more than ever. Some days it may seem harder than others, but I always make an effort. I guarantee it will make you and your family happier and you will see how great it can make others feel too. It really can't hurt and could change someone's life - all by giving a little love.

 5.   BE GIVING

 Give something from a place of love in your unique way every day. You will spread love to the world and see more love than you ever imagined show up in your life. You can give by getting involved with a charity, helping people, or by giving something to someone that needs. Be of service to the world for lasting happiness and love.

 Start by being nice to your friends and family or someone that needs. It doesn’t have to be a huge deal just giving a little love can transform someone’s life and your own. Even silently wishing someone happiness and love will help others. 

 You can also find a charity you are passionate about and give to it in some way with money, donations, items or your time. Some of us have too many material items and by giving we are being less attached to things that aren’t important and helping people and the world at the same time. If you don’t have material possessions you can make a simple start by helping someone with something they may need, or by giving blood or even helping someone carry their shopping. Or you can give your precious time to a cause, something you are passionate about and make real change in the world. 

 Give, Give, Give!  No matter how small you think it is, giving can change someone’s life and your own. Make sure you accept love and compliments as you give. The giving and receiving cycle go hand in hand.

6. GO WITHIN

If you want lasting happiness you must go within and work on your internal self. Work out what you need to work on If it’s self-love, fears, judgement, comparison, jealousy or just more love. Everyone can work on self-love and happiness even if you are bursting with love and happiness.

Someone once told me to go within or I would go without, and I never forgot it. It holds a lot of truth for us all. Life is full of surprises and everyone needs to look after their internal world. Even positive people, bursting with self-love and happiness, still need to stay self-aware and look after themselves to stay this way. Emotional, mental and spiritual health all work together to make love-filled, well rounded, happy beings. Everyone has different needs and some will need to exercise, meditate, pray, spend time alone, go outdoors or be with friends to stay happy and love-filled. We may need help from specialised groups, professionals or family and friends. Whatever you do for a love-filled happy life, look within yourself and give yourself some love. Filling yourself with love from the inside will help love shine in your outside world and make your life a much happier, love-filled place.

Be self aware. How do people react to you and how do you react to people? What makes you happy or sad? What is working in your life and what is not? Only you can make any changes.

If you suffer with sadness, depression, anger, fear, jealously, past trauma, self doubt or you keep comparing yourself to others, then you may need to work on this area in your life and ask for help if you need. Start by looking online for free resources, ask your doctor or talk to family or friends. Reading, learning, healing and breaking through your barriers will all help you get closer to your happiest self. Be your happiness advocate as only you know what you feel inside and only you know how your internal world is working.

There is help for everybody if you need it, you just need to ask for it. It might be extremely hard for some people to ask for help, go within, face fears, and challenging working on their problems or past issues. Healing takes time and It may get worse before it gets better. But trying to resolve these area of your life will be worth it in the end for the love-filled life we dream about.

Life can be hard and painful for everyone at times, which is why it is important to keep working on ourselves if we want to have lasting love and happiness. With the help of professionals and your loved ones supporting and guiding you it will get easier. The best is yet to come and hopefully with some work you will see your life change for the better and more love than ever show up in your life.

 
 

7. LOOK AFTER YOUR HEALTH AND WELL BEING AND TAKE TIME OUT FOR YOU

 Look after yourself and make your health and happiness a priority today if you want to live a love-filled and happy life. If you don’t look after yourself and your health, you won’t be able to do anything to the best of your ability. Start little by little to make your health and wellbeing part of your life. Take time away from this busy life for YOU to breathe, meditate, be still and quiet.  Connect back to the simple things and appreciate the beauty and love around you.

 Give yourself some love and try to do something you love each day. Everyone’s idea of love is different but what is important is to do what makes you feel happy and full of love. Work on self-love as it will be the most important love in your life. Do the best you can to eat well, drink water, decrease stress, and move your body in some way. Nourish your body with the best foods you have access to and think about what you consume. Food in its pure form, fresh and from the earth is much better than any processed food. Start with some light exercise, walking or anything to get the blood and heart flowing. Do your best as everyone is different. You should always check with your doctor or health professional before you make any changes or do anything new.  If you look after your health, body, mind and soul everything in your life will feel better and be more balanced. You will feel amazing, love yourself more and be a happier person.

You may not think it is for you, but a little bit of meditation or alone time can be helpful for everyone. You can take a power nap, bath or do some meditation. If it seems too hard (believe me some days, it is too hard), I lie on the bed for 2 minutes while my baby sleeps and that honestly recharges me. Yes - 2 minutes, 10 minutes whatever you can manage. Never underestimate the power of some meditation, a quick nap or some quiet time. Taking a moment out of our busy lives to give our mind a break and be quiet is like medicine for our mind and body. It will help you stay calm, stay strong and come back to your true loves and life calling. It can also help you let go of things that aren’t meant for you. 

 There are so many free guides to meditation but if you can’t access them you can start by sitting or lying still, then try not to think about anything. Now slow your mind by concentrating on your breath. You can ask for guidance in any area of your life and focus on the things you love and the life you desire.  Or you can lie down, close your eyes, nap or whatever you fancy but for your benefit, you should try to be alone and quiet. If you do this then hopefully you will be more productive, feel recharged and rejuvenated. With a clear mind, you can begin to see changes in your life and the magic start to happen everywhere in your life.

 8. SPEND TIME OUTDOORS

 Enjoy some time in nature and try to get outside every day or when it’s possible. It’s so important for our health and our overall well-being.

 A little fresh air or early morning sun can do wonders for the mind and our health. Nothing can clear our heads or nourish our body like breathing in some fresh air and watching the sunrise or sunset. It feels great to take a walk outside or to get your feet in the sand. And we know that it’s important for our overall well-being and good for the soul too. 

We can do so much outside, there are endless options-

- a beach walk

- a swim in the ocean

- sitting or reading under a tree

- running barefoot in the grass

- dazing at the sky and cloud watching

- playing in the snow

- walks in the countryside, hillside, the mountains or the forest

- gardening, picnics, fishing, camping or playing in the dirt. 

 If you spend a little time in nature when you can you will hopefully feel all the benefits. It can be like magic if you take the time to slow down, go outside and look for the beauty all around. You might just have to be creative depending on where you live.

If you can’t go outside for any reason then you can try imagining, visualizing or meditating that you are in nature. You can listen to free meditations with nature sounds or you can find a quiet place and take some deep breaths quietly while you are thinking about something you like in nature. Hopefully with time you can feel some of the healing benefits of nature during this practice. We shouldn’t take our earth or nature for granted as it is so important for our health and future. We have to care for our world like our health, cherish it and enjoy it.

 9. MAKE THE MOST OF EACH DAY AND HAVE FUN

Life is too short not to love, feel joy and true happiness. Try to enjoy every moment and trust everything happens for a reason. Stay positive and find the love in any given situation. Stay close to your loved ones not to miss a loving moment, a laugh or a smile as it’s these moments you will remember when you are looking back at your lifeWe all need to make love-filled memories today.

If you try to love a little more every day it can transform your life. Bit by bit, little by little is all it takes to make these changes. Spending time with precious family and friends and doing the things you love (and of course having fun along the way) is the perfect combination to ensure you enjoy your life as much as possible. Change is inevitable in life so being open to love, flexible and trusting is the key to happiness. If you have faith and accept that things happen for a reason and learn from the experience every stage will be much easier. Life can be very difficult, and It isn’t always easy or possible to be positive and happy. We have to be true to ourselves and how we are feeling. We have to let ourselves work through all stages of life but trying to find the silver lining in hard times and learn from the difficult days is what makes us stronger and happier people. If you can find some positives in every experience you will find happiness a lot easier and people will find it easier to be with you. Negative energy and unhappiness make it much harder for you to find love in your life. If it all seems to difficult then take small steps. Day by day just try to work on something little for you, from a place of love. Follow these steps and show the world some love every day as you never know what is around the corner. You might just get your dream life and one full of love.
